Scholarships for First-Year Students

The SJMC offers a number of scholarships for entering first-year students who plan on pursuing a program of study in the SJMC. These include:

The William and Patricia Greer Scholarship
The Robert and Joan Owens Scholarship
The Peter and Elizabeth Edmonds Scholarship
The Greer, Owens, and Edomons Scholarships are one-year scholarships varying in award between $1000 and $2000. These scholarships are offered to high-achieving first-year students who are accepted to the College of Liberal Arts, are accepted into the CLA Honors Program, and intend to pursue a journalism major.

Students do not apply for the Greer, Owens, and Edmonds Scholarships; these scholarships are awarded by the College of Liberal Arts Honors Program. Students who are accepted into CLA Honors are automatically considered for these awards.
