The SJMC is part of the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) and is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC).
Ideally located in a major media market, the school tries in every way possible to take advantage of the Twin Cities’ metropolitan setting and the availability of media leaders to enrich both classroom instruction and experiential learning opportunities. Many SJMC students participate in internships with local newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations, and nationally respected advertising and public relations agencies.
In addition, the SJMC offers:
DAAD and the renowned Freie Universität Berlin (named in 2007 as one of the nine "universities of excellence" in Germany) have developed this unique new program to provide outstanding young journalism students - who may themselves come to have a significant influence on international opinion-shaping - with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the society, culture, values, and political attitudes in Germany.
