Kate Roberts Edenborg
Kate has worked professionally in print journalism for around ten years and continues to do so today as well. She also has pursued opportunities in other areas communications. Kate obtained her MA at the University of Minnesota’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication and has had the opportunity to teach a number of courses throughout her graduate career. These opportunities made it possible for her to receive second place in AEJMC’s Promising Professor competition in 2005. Kate's general areas of academic interest include journalism/mass communication history, cultural studies, media coverage of women, women in mass communication, literacy and media literacy, and literature.
Current Research Interests:
While her master’s thesis was a historical look at media coverage of First Ladies, Kate's doctoral focus is on representations of girlhood in children’s books, periodicals and magazines.
