SJMC Centers and Research

The SJMC is home to three vibrant research centers focusing on specialized disciplinary topics. Individual faculty members and graduate stuents also conduct their own cutting-edge research, which is supported by the SJMC's Digital Information Resource Center/Eric Sevareid Library.

The Digital Information Research Center/Sevareid Library: The DIRC/Sevareid Library is the SJMC's communications resource and research hub, with access to books, journals, newspapers, and multimedia resources related to the journalism and communications disciplines.

Faculty research: Recent publicatons, presentations, research grants, awards, and more.

Graduate student research: Graduate student publications, presentations, and dissertations/theses.

SJMC Research Centers: the SJMC is home to three communications research centers. The Institute for New Media Studies, the Silha Center for the Study of Media Ethics & Law, and the Minnesota Journalism Center.

SJMC Research Division: The SJMC Communication Research Division exists to promote top-notch quantitative and qualitative communications research.
